About us

After a number of years in which it was inactive, the Confederation of Mediterranean Badminton (COMEBA) was formally reconstituted at a meeting held in Casablanca (Morocco) on the 29th July 2006, with the approval of its new Statute by the thirteen participating countries and the election of its Board of Directors.

Furthermore, three separate internal Working Groups were set up to look after Development, Youth and Technical issues. The meeting was attended by Mr. Tom Bacher (President of Badminton Europe), Mr. Larry Keys (President of the Badminton Confederation of Africa) and Col. Mustapha Zekri (Mediterranean Games Executive Committee member); they all confirmed their full support for COMEBA. COMEBA’s main objective, stated clearly in its Statute, is the promotion and development of Badminton in the countries of the Mediterranean basin. It also intends to strive for the introduction and maintenance of Badminton in the Mediterranean Games.
