COMEBA Elections | Kuala Lumpur

During the COMEBA General Assembly convened in Kuala Lumpur, the election of the new Executive Board took place, marking the beginning of a phase dedicated to revitalisation and development for the Confederation.

The presidency is assumed by Mr Andoni Azurmendi (Spain), supported by Vice Presidents Mr Ratko Giljer (Croatia), Mr Shehab Yehia (Egypt), and Mr Giovanni Esposito (Italy), in accordance with COMEBA statutes and considering Italy’s role as the host nation for the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto.

The Executive Board is further constituted by Mr Sylvain Benain (France) as Secretary General, Mr Mario Carulla (Spain) serving as Treasurer, Ms Joanne Cassar (Malta) and Mr Sioud Raouf (Tunisia) as Board Members.

The overarching objective is to revitalise COMEBA, inaugurate its new office, establish operational financial systems, and lay the groundwork for a robust economic and administrative management framework.
